By Air

San Diego International Airport at Lindbergh Field is located downtown and is about 15 minutes from the USD campus. Airport shuttles, taxis and car rentals can be found at all terminals. If you have a hotel reservation in San Diego, some hotels provide complimentary shuttle services to and from the airport. Car rentals are also available at the airport with shuttles providing transportation to the rental facilities.

By Public Transportation

MTS buses, trolleys and coasters provide convenient transportation throughout San Diego County. If you want to use the local bus service, you need to take Bus Route 44 to our campus. Bus schedules differ, but service the stop by our entrance every 15 to 20 minutes.

The San Diego Trolley runs every 15 minutes throughout most of the day and every 30 minutes in the evening. The stop nearest our campus is the Old Town Transit Center.

The North County Coaster runs 43 miles along the coast with station stops in downtown San Diego, Old Town, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Carlsbad and Oceanside. It is best to transfer from the Coaster to a bus at the Old Town Transit Center to reach our campus.

Parking

You may park in the Main Parking Structure or the West Parking Structure. Each of these locations have no maximum time. In these areas, vehicles must have a valid USD parking permit OR pay at a pay station or on the ParkMobile app. Those individuals with valid USD parking permits are not required to pay in these areas.

All paid parking areas at USD operate as pay-by-plate. This means that a license plate number is required when making a payment at the pay station. It may be helpful to take a picture of your license plate after you park your vehicle. Once you have made your payment, there is no need to display your receipt on your dashboard.

Visit the USD Parking website for additional details.
