Safeguarding Our World
The days between Black Friday and Christmas Eve are some of the biggest in retail, and during that period not long ago, Target was hit by hackers who accessed millions of credit cards. No one is immune to hackers — not even the head of the CIA whose personal emails and text edits were recently hacked.
Now USD is helping the region take a stand.
San Diego is home to one of the nation’s largest and most robust clusters of cyber security firms.
Professional and Continuing Education and the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering are partnering to establish a Center for Cyber Security Engineering and Technology (CCSET). The center will include a laboratory outfitted with cyber security equipment and technologies.
This world-class environment will create opportunities for USD students to excel in one of the most significant emerging 21st century professions.
