  • ASG

    Associated Student Government
    This group is composed of undergraduate student representatives who advocate, support and help create change at USD.
  • CASA

    The Mulvaney Center for Community, Awareness and Social Action Engagement
    CASA connects with communities off campus. The programs advance social justice locally and across the border.
  • FYE

    First-Year Experience
    All programs and activities during a student’s first year at USD, including OLÉ! Weekend, Living Learning Communities and the LLC Fall Course.
  • Harry Potter Room

    Mother Rosalie Hill Reading Room
    Located on the main floor of Copley Library, this is a silent study room open to students and the campus community during library hours.
  • IPJ

    Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice
    This building is home to several academic programs, and houses classrooms and meeting spaces.
  • JCP

    Jenny Craig Pavilion
    Home to several USD athletic teams, including men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball. It is also used for large special events, new student convocation and commencement.
  • LLC

    Living Learning Community
    Your assigned community that unites your LLC fall course and your residential area under a common theme.
  • P-Safe

    Public Safety
    The Department of Public Safety is located on the south side of the Hughes Administration Center and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help with emergency situations.
  • SA

    Scholastic Assistant
    An SA is a successful student at USD and serves as a point of connection for first-year students. They are assigned to a particular LLC course.
  • SLP

    Student Life Pavilion
    A focal point of student life and dining on campus. Pavilion Dining, Tu Mercado and several student organization offices can be found here.
  • SYE Abroad

    Second-Year Experience Abroad
    A special opportunity for second-year or transfer students with 45 units or less to study abroad together with their cohort during intersession.
  • The Mesa

    Camino, Founders, Maher and Aromas Café
    Collectively, these residence buildings, amenities and offices located on the west side of campus are known as the Mesa.
  • The Valley

    Valley A and B, San Buenaventura, San Antonio de Padua, Valley Field, Mata’yuum Crossroads and Bradford Lee Bosley Café and Fitness Center
    These buildings and amenities are located on the east side of campus.
  • TLC

    Transfer Learning Community
    You are assigned a course, taken together with other transfer students.
  • TPB

    Torero Program Board
    An organization charged with coordinating student programs and events held on campus.
  • TSA

    Transfer Scholastic Assistant
    A TSA is a successful student who transferred into USD and serves as a point of connection for new transfer students. They are assigned a particular TLC course.
  • Tu Merc

    Tu Mercado
    A full-service grocery store, deli and coffee bar located on the second floor of the Student Life Pavilion.
  • UC

    Hahn University Center
    This building houses the USD Torero Store, La Gran Terraza restaurant, O’Toole’s Lounge, Frank’s Lounge, various department offices, conference rooms and lounge areas.
  • UFMC

    United Front Multicultural Commons
    This center engages the USD community in exploring and affirming the unique identity of each person and serves as an educational resource for students, faculty and staff.
  • UM

    University Ministry
    This department offers a variety of experiences from weekly Mass in Founders Chapel to immersion opportunities in the San Diego and Tijuana communities.
