Homecoming and Family Week is a Torero experience for the whole family.
Attendees enjoy the opportunity to connect with USD and fellow alumni, students, families and friends through the many events offered throughout the week at USD’s beautiful Alcalá Park.

USD partners with Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego to give back to our community via a food drive. This year, the requests are focused on food items in preparation for Thanksgiving.

A cherished tradition at USD, this event honors the legacy of those who have followed in the footsteps of their Torero parents and family members. During the ceremony, Torero Legacies will receive a commemorative legacy pin and a family photograph. Light refreshments provided. Event is complimentary and RSVP is appreciated.

Prepare to be amazed for a one-of-a-kind celebration when USD Agents of Change are recognized at the 26th annual Alumni Honors event. This cherished tradition returns with the Mother Rosalie Clifton Hill Award for Service to the University, the Bishop Charles Francis Buddy Award for Service to Humanitarian Causes and a special tribute to Torero Changemakers.
Enjoy a champagne toast in the beautiful Kroc Institute of Peace and Justice’s rotunda to start the celebration. As part of your ticket, honorees and attendees will join the Fabulous Torero Casino Night in the Garden of the Sea to continue the festivities!
Past Alumni Honors award recipients are invited to wear their medallions. For additional information and to view the list of past honorees, visit the Alumni Honors website. Complimentary valet parking will be available.

The annual Homecoming Big Blue Bash Student Concert is back! The concert is hosted by the Torero Program Board and is complimentary for the entire USD community. Free to attend.

Go all in and support students at the Fabulous Torero Casino Night! Join in a fun-filled night of entertainment, food and beverages. Enjoy traditional casino-style games along with raffle prizes, mystery boxes and a silent auction. Proceeds support the Torero Student Support Fund.
Self-parking will be available in the SOLES parking lot and West Parking Structure.

Degheri Alumni Center, Courtyard
Kick-off your special weekend with a private reception in the Degheri Alumni Center Courtyard. Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and a hosted bar with former classmates from the classes of 1970 and 1971, as well as Golden Torero alumni from earlier years. Please note this event will be held outside, weather permitting. Complimentary parking is available in the Main Parking Structure.

Camino, Founders and Sacred Heart Halls
Come see our new and renewed living and learning spaces for today’s and tomorrow’s Toreros! Everyone is invited to visit the Learning Commons, Copley Library, Camino, Founders and Sacred Heart Halls on a self-guided tour. Travel through the “Arts District” to experience live student performances and art showcase. Enjoy a mimosa and light continental breakfast as you roam through the new and renovated spaces. This event is complimentary and RSVP is appreciated.

Stop by the Camino-Founders Courtyard to celebrate the rich creative life of our community, featuring student work from the Departments of Music, Theatre, Communication Studies, and Ethnic Studies.

La Jolla Shores
Experience ocean kayaking in San Diego! Enjoy a thrilling kayak tour of the Seven Caves and La Jolla’s Underwater Park. After a brief paddle instruction and safety talk, you will explore some of the finest scenery along the Pacific Coast where one can often see spectacular marine life, such as sea lions, sea birds, leopard sharks, and garibaldi fish. No experience necessary! Outings are 9:20 a.m., 10:40 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. You must plan to arrive one hour prior to the outing start time to get changed and have a brief orientation before you kayak.

The USD community is invited to show their Torero pride at this FREE spirited event! Join in the festivities that are sure to entertain the whole family until kick-off. Enjoy an afternoon of games, live DJ, USD Spirit Zone, photo booth, student activities area and more! Food trucks, beverages and beer offerings will be available for purchase.
After the Tailgate, follow the crowd to Torero Stadium to cheer your Toreros onto victory! Tailgate is free, but an RSVP is appreciated.

Add on a reserved private tent to enhance your tailgate experience. Reservations include tent, food and beverages, commemorative Homecoming and Family Week T-shirt, spirit swag and USD Football game ticket. Reservations are limited and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

La Gran Terraza, Hahn University Center
Classes of 1970 and 1971, celebrate your 50th reunion with USD President James T. Harris III, DEd, and receive your commemorative medallion as you are inducted into the Golden Toreros! Golden Toreros are undergraduate alumni who have surpassed their 50th reunion year. We welcome all Golden Toreros and their guests to attend this special event. Alumni from prior classes who have not yet been inducted will also receive their Golden Torero medallion.

San Diego Bay
Get out on the water and enjoy one of the best views in San Diego! Come join us for an evening paddle on the Big Bay to a spectacular view of the downtown city skyline. After a brief paddle instruction and safety talk, we will casually paddle out onto the bay, enjoying a quiet time of the day. Our trained student guides and staff will provide you with a safe and memorable trip. No experience necessary! This is one of the off the beaten path experiences in San Diego.
Founders Chapel
Come together with your Torero family to close Homecoming and Family Weekend with the memorable Alumni and Family Mass in Founders Chapel. In Torero tradition, we will honor our 50th class reunion (our newest Golden Toreros) and recognize the recipients of the Torero Parents of the Year and Alumni Honors award recipients. A light reception will follow in the Ministry Center Courtyard.
Alumni Honors award recipients, past and current, and Golden Toreros are encouraged to wear their medallions.
