Founder and CEO, SunGate Solar

Mou D. Riiny is the founder and CEO of SunGate Solar, a professional solar power design, installation, and maintenance company committed to improving the standard of living and development of South Sudan. This is accomplished through the delivery of sustainable energy for private, public, NGO and commercial customers. Riiny founded SunGate Solar, LTD, in 2013, and the company is owned and entirely staffed by South Sudanese.

Riiny was educated in the United States, where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of San Diego in 2011. After graduating, he returned to South Sudan where he worked for a nonprofit organization to lead a program building schools and installing several village-level solar energy solutions for community facilities in remote locations. Riiny lives with his wife and sons in Wau, South Sudan.
